• The Missouri Conservation Commission recently accepted a 1,700-acre tract near the county line of Wright and Texas near Highway 38. Aaron Jeffries, deputy director – outreach and policy, with the Missouri Department of Conservation said last week that the Texas County land was donated by an estate and the conservation department will begin work to develop the property and will likely have an announcement about its use soon. Most of the property is forest land.
