• Electric rates in Mountain View are dropping 10 percent after the community joined a power pool group that includes Houston. The switch occurred in January. It’s good news for the Howell County community that was faced with a 20 percent rate hike in January 2016. Savings are significant. The city’s invoice in January was $246,000. Under the old rate the cost was $335,000.
