Local author Marie Lasater, standing, hosted a book-signing event for her newest work, "Nature Has More Cures," Feb. 3 at The Health Food Store on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston. Guests had the opportunity to discuss natural cures with Lasater (RN, MSN, CNRN), who has been interested in holistic healing and natural approaches to patient care throughout her career. Lasater talked about native plants, common medical conditions and their symbiotic relationships. Her new book and her first, "Nature Has Cures," can each be purchased at The Health Food Store.
