50 YEARS AGO — These eight students from the Houston High School music department were performing with an all-SCA band at West Plains. Musicians from all SCA schools took part in the concert. Positions were determined through auditions. Bands from the nine SCA schools were judged. Local musicians were, from left: Tim Elmore, Leasha Barnes, Keith Miles, Debbie Smith, Blaine Miller, Karolyn Jeffries, Jim Sowers and Ricky Amelon.
