A lock of snow geese lies north last Thursday afternoon near Houston Memorial Airport. The birds breed in far northern portions of North America (including Alaska, Canada and Greenland) and the northeastern tip of Siberia, and spend winters in warmer zones, from southwestern British Columbia to as far south as Texas and Mexico. They normally return to nesting area on the Arctic tundra each spring.
