V. Leon Slape, 66, is a retired educator who served as superintendent/principal at Success R-6 School (1989-’98), high school principal at Houston R-1 Schools (1998-2002) and superintendent of Plato R-V Schools (2001-’11). He has been married 47 years to his wife, Linda, and has three married daughters and eight grandchildren. He attends Faith Fellowship.
