A large number of vendors gathered recently at the Houston Farmers Market on First Street at the Lone Star Plaza. The market is open Tuedays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 7 a.m. to noon. 

A civic group met Thursday night and received updates on several projects involving Houston’s downtown business district.
