Ernest Atwood and Laura Elizabeth Gross Hicock of Houston are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on Sept. 27, 1940, at Christ Church in Philadelphia, Pa., where Benjamin Franklin, George and Martha Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and Betsy Ross worshiped. Eleven signers of the Declaration of Independence are buried at the church.
